Should You Go Nude for Boudoir Photos?

When it comes to whether or not to bare it all for a boudoir photoshoot, it's totally up to you.

The decision to go full nude for a boudoir session is a very personal one, and not everyone is comfortable getting naked in front of a photographer. If you're proud to be in your birthday suit, more power to you! If your doctor and/or partner are the only people who've ever seen you naked and you want to keep it that way, that's completely fine, too! The good news is boudoir photography is for everyone, no matter what your comfort level is with nudity or your body in general. Below are some ideas for sexy photos at any level of undress.

What are my options?

Boudoir is for everyone, and my goal is to have you walk away from your photoshoot feeling beautiful and confident. Before your session, we'll discuss your comfort level with nudity and any body parts you may be self-conscious about (if any). Based on what you tell me, I'll create an experience catered to you and your body and help you pick out what to wear.

Sexy Outfits, Costumes, Oversized Shirts

Although many boudoir shoots take place in a bedroom and involve lingerie or posing nude, there are plenty of sexy photos that can be taken fully dressed. If you have a cool outfit you want to show off, a flirty costume, or feel your sexiest in a shirt and stockings, bring them to your session!

Lingerie

Lingerie is by far the most popular choice for what to wear to a boudoir session. If you want to wear lingerie but are a bit self conscious about your tummy, you can opt for a bodysuit or babydoll-style lingerie or pair your lingerie with a silky or sheer robe.

Full Or Partial Nudity

If you want to bare more, you are free to get as undressed as you like. Those who do often find it liberating and far less scary than they had imagined. Most clients who opt for some level of nudity in their photos also bring lingerie and take it off later in the photoshoot when they feel more comfortable. If you decide to go nude, you can pose wrapped in a sheet, cover yourself with your hands, create mystique with a silhouette or just bare it all for the camera! Always, the point is to walk away from your session feeling confident and beautiful.
